Manila for the real reason: Amaan Advisors meetings with gaming operators in Entertainment City, where most of the Philippines' casino resorts sit. Three days of that and Intramuros in between, then five nights at Shangri-La Boracay where the laptop stayed shut.

DAY 01 — Intramuros First

Land in Manila, check in near BGC. Afternoon walking Intramuros — Fort Santiago, San Agustin Church — before the meetings start.

Dinner at Aristocrat for the chicken barbecue everyone in Manila argues about.

DAY 02 — Entertainment City

Full day of meetings out at Solaire and City of Dreams Manila with gaming-floor operators — the actual point of the trip.

Dinner in BGC at Blackbird, drinks after at the Sky Deck rooftop.

DAY 03 — Rizal Park, Then Boracay

Morning at Rizal Park and the National Museum, lunch crawling Binondo — the oldest Chinatown in the world, worth the whole morning.

Afternoon flight to Caticlan, boat over to Boracay, check into Shangri-La Boracay Resort & Spa by evening.

DAY 04 — White Beach

First full day at the resort, no plans further than the beach.

Sunset on White Beach, welcome dinner at Aria Boracay.

DAY 05 — Island Hopping

Boat out to Crystal Cove, Crocodile Island and Puka Beach.

Evening sunset sail off the resort's private cove.

DAY 06 — Watersports & D'Mall

Parasailing and helmet diving in the morning, CHI Spa in the afternoon.

Dinner and a walk through D'Mall, nightlife at Epic Boracay.

DAY 07 — Ariel's Point, Farewell Dinner

Cliff diving and snorkeling at Ariel's Point.

Farewell dinner right on the beach, last drinks watching the tide come in.

DAY 08 — Home

Boat back to Caticlan, connecting flight through Manila, home by night.
